Touch Table

The touch table in action.A demo program we used to test the table.

As part of a compressed research project, Russ Lewis and I built a table with a touch-responsive display top. We started with an LCD monitor, a pile of wood, and a mountain of IR LEDs and ended up with a surprisingly responsive and usable touch-screen table. It only took 537 hours of soldering! We had hoped to explore custom touch-based interfaces, but time for the research project ran out.
